Born into a family of talented musicians, Deb Silver is a jazz vocalist, composer and theater performer living and working in the United States and England.
Early performing days in Manchester, Sea Isle City NJ, & NYC Deb sang and wrote with brother Tony and sister Kaz. The siblings still perform together today.
Philadelphia launched several bands for Deb: Toy Dept., The Strawberry Affair, 4 For Billy and a stateside tour with The Vels. as well as regular appearances at the infamous J.C. Dobbs, Chris’s & Ortleib’s Jazz House. From Deb’s first gig at Grendel’s Lair on South Street to gigs across PA & NJ to a ground breaking night before LIVE AID opening for THE PRETENDERS at Chestnut Cabaret.
Deb was raised listening to Jazz & singer-songwriters of the 70′s in Philly she studied Jazz harmony & Jazz piano with the incredible Jimmy Amadae and landed a prize weekly gig at The Warwick Hotel with “Debby Does Jazz” where her unique interpretations of jazz classics brought her an enthusiastic audience that translated into a year-long residency.
Her vibrant sound steadily evolved, taking her to New York City where she became a mainstay at Manhattan’s Zinc Bar with longtime band-mates Ron Affif and Essiet Essiet.
A gifted composer in her own right, Deb soon added a wide range of uniquely romantic and soulful tunes to her growing catalog.
Along with her work as a published songwriter, recording artist, music producer/arranger, and piano accompanist, Deb’s achievements include three one-woman musical shows
Staged readings of her full-length musical, This Life, for which she is composer, lyricist, and librettist. Her original songs have been featured in independent films, while she has lent her vocals to numerous bands, studio albums and voiceovers for infomercials, video, and television. As the founder and director of The Silver Voice Method and The Natural Voice Studio, Deb taught vocal techniques and performance workshops to hundreds of students in New York City.
Deb appears regularly at Florida and NYC nightclubs whilst also performing at private parties and cabarets with combos, big bands and as a solo entertainer. Following a successful sneak preview to 250 of Prince William’s VIP guests at Kensington Palace, Deb’s new solo album, “In Spring,” is scheduled for a 2014 release.
